No.33 - Mary Miller House665 Del Mar AvenueColonel Charles Miller purchased this property when he bought "El Nido" at 669 Del Mar Avenue in 1919. His widow split the property, selling El Nido in 1927. Water was connected to this parcel in May 1927 and construction began on this house, where Mrs. Miller lived for two or three years. In December 1930, she sold the house to Adolph L. Meyer, who lived there until March 1934, when it was sold to John T. Mathis. This house is a good example of the Spanish Eclectic style and is unique in that electricity and telephone services were installed underground. |
