No. 25 - Leo Christy House124 Hilltop Drive
Leo Christy, the son of James and Mary Christy, came to Chula Vista as a young man and purchased the land on which the land stands in approximately 1911. He married Floy Melville, the daughter of Edward Melville, another Chula Vista pioneer. The Christys lived in a smaller house at this address until this house was built in 1928. Leo Christy was a rancher and lather, and the family was well known in Chula Vista. Floy Christy served as president of the Chula Vista Woman's Club in 1925. This charming home retains integrity of design and materials and is an example of the Colonial Revival style popular during the period. The house is significant as the home of a pioneer family, and ownership continues within the Christy family today. |
