| No.10 - Byron Bronson House613 Second AvenueThis house, known locally as the "Blue Castle," may have been built around 1888. The San Diego Land and Town Company sold the property in 1907 to Emma Bronson, the wife of Byron Bronson, a local rancher. He died in 1913 at the age of 44, and his widow lived in the house until 1916 when she sold the property to Florence Bean, the wife of another Chula Vista rancher, Charles M. Bean. The Beans held the property until 1949. The house is an outstanding example of Queen Anne architecture and retains integrity of design and materials. |
